I started taking care of pets at about 11 years old to learn responsibility and earn a couple of coins to add to the piggie bank. At that young age I followed the schedule and routine requested by whichever neighbors' pet I was sitting at that time. Knowing another life was depending on my presence gave me a feeling of not just responsibility but importance. Growing up I continued to sit for neighbors and eventually as I got older I added friends to that list. I have always made sure I can dedicate the time needed and commit to the routine before agreeing to sitting. When I am sitting, I am sure to give plenty of love and attention to make sure your baby feels secure and safe with me. I make sure I slowly introduce myself and let them see he/she can trust me and relax feeling loved and adored. Your pet should feel loved, comfortable, and cared for in their own home. I am a visitor, this is their home. I am sure to always show respect to their territory.
