About Lisa

I have a Masters in International Business Administration. a B. A. in Chinese Humanities & Linguistics, and I am a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) in English Language Learners (formerly ESOL). I was chairperson of the reading department & Teacher of the Year at my school. My skills include reading across multiple content areas, (language arts, history, social studies etc.) improving vocabulary, reading comprehension, and test taking strategies for students of all ages. My love of reading and my advanced degrees have provided me with a rich educational and cultural background that in turn helps me instruct students in reading across the content areas. I am a punctual, reliable, knowledgeable, professional with a track record of proven successes. I have worked with children with ADHD and high functioning autism. I also cared for a senior with rapidly advancing Alzheimer's. And recently, I vet teched for my senior cat suffering from a brain tumor.
