I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeast Missouri State University and am beyond excited for my son to attend the same university this fall with the goal of becoming an elementary educator. Currently I work as a Literacy Teaching Assistant for an elementary school in a local district. My role includes working with small groups and individuals on skills such as decoding, comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, phonemic awareness and phonics. I also assess current skills and proctor state testing. Additionally, I substitute teach for the district. My style of teaching is flexible and takes into consideration the likes and dislikes of the child I'm working with as well as their personality type. I work hard for my students and expect them to work hard too. I believe that learning can be fun and practical. I'd love to spend this summer helping your child get where they need to be, or even just sharpen their skills for the 25/26 school year.
