While comprehension is great, I strive to bring passion for the material making students fall in love with the subject. I graduated from Bates College where I was an economics/ studio art double major. I have TAed college micro/macroeconomics, been a middle school special education teaching assistant, and tutored all types of primary and secondary mathematics from enrichment to aiding students in achieving grade level standards. Madeline tutored our daughter when we moved back to the US after living abroad for 2 years. My daughter was in first and second grade in another system and was very behind the US system. Madeline worked with her daily over the summer to bring her up to third grade level. She not only succeeded to bring my daughter’s academic level up to grade level, she also connected so beautifully with her, and our whole family. Madeline struck the perfect balance between heads-down work and fun. She is extremely creative and catered the lessons to my daughter’s interests. I feel so grateful for the knowledge and confidence that she instilled in my daughter, who went off to 3rd grade and was able to keep up with her class.
