About Maija

I'd describe my personality as curious, enthusiastic, passionate, I like tutoring because I love seeing students become engaged with material that excites me. I'm looking for a job in which I can share my love of literature and writing with others. I started tutoring when I was in graduate school. Tutoring helped me to build my own writing and critical thinking skills. In my spare time, I like to read, work out, walk my dog, and spend time with pets and friends. My skills include paying attention to learning styles, asking questions that stimulate student engagement, and keeping track of student progress.
