About Malaijah

My name is Malaijah (Ma-lay-juh) and I am 20 years old. When I first got into childcare, I was quite overwhelmed and nervous at the idea of handling someone else's child. I knew there were so many things that could go wrong and so I was awkward with the children. However, instead of "what if" this was my kid, I began to place myself in an active mindset. These ARE my kids and I am their teacher, caregiver, and their voice. It is my duty to protect them and provide them with a support system and great learning environment where they can flourish. My main reason for working with younger children is because I like working with their self regulating skills. I want the children to recognize how they feel and deal with it in a positive outlet instead of a negative one. I want these kids to grow up feeling safe and able to express with their parents and other trustworthy adults how they feel. I love to give them a voice and hear them proud that they can speak up for themselves.
