About Maren

I am a Multiple Subject Credentialed Teacher, and I completed my BA at UCSC and my credential at SSU. I worked as a 7th grade teacher in Santa Rosa for the past 11 years, teaching all subjects areas. I have many years of experience working in preschools and elementary school classrooms, in addition to middle school. I have also worked as a tutor through my school district as well as privately for students 1:1. I have worked with a very wide variety of learners over the years including neurodivergent students, English learners, and students with specific learning disabilities. I am skilled at determining what instructional style each individual learner needs, identifying areas of misconception, and using strategies that appeal to various learning styles. I have children of my own and I genuinely love working with kids. I am patient, enthusiastic, and kind. I believe that kids (and adults) need to feel secure and comfortable in order to take the risk required to learn!
