About Maria

I found Maria through care.com and she was clearly very qualified and experienced to be a nanny, we were very excited to meet her. Unfortunately I chose to ignore the one other bad review about Maria changing the terms of her arrangement close to the start date, that was a risk I took. Maria interviewed very well, was a sweetheart and we were excited to set her up as a nanny two-days-a-week, we even set a start date one month ahead of time for a trial-period to make sure she was a good fit. She had another family she was nannying for but luckily those were on other days of the week that complimented our needs so there was no problem.We kept periodic contact throughout that one month. Then, two days before our start date she informed me that her other family had asked for new days of the week that conflicted with ours and if we did not increase the hours for her then she would have to commit to the other family. This situation left us without a nanny suddenly 2 days before our start date as my wife was returning to work after maternity leave was ending. Needless to say, the last minute scramble to find an emergency nanny after having set up a whole month ahead was incredibly unexpected. Proceed at your own risk, make sure you understand under what circumstances she may suddenly opt for a different family.
