About Mariela

I have been taking care of children for as long as I can remember. I grew up taking care of my little brothers (who are twins) and also many other friends children. I have been a babysitter for a long time and then I also became a camp counselor as well as a lifeguard. I worked at a summer camp and taught swim lessons, my highest certification being Water Safety Instructor. My certifications have since been expired but I still carry a lot of knowledge and I also was a competitive swimmer for over a decade (I am an advanced swimmer and love to teach it). Later, I continued to babysit as well as informally teach swim lessons. I have also worked as a teaching artist, going to schools (grades 2-12) and co-teaching workshops on different topics (often working with special needs/disabilities). I also have worked as a costumer for children's theater shows.
