About Marissa

I've always been surrounded by working with and caring for children my entire life. My mother is a preschool teacher and had an at home childcare during the summers. I would always help out with meals, creating fun activities and overall supervision of the kids. When I left home for college I still enjoyed being around kids and have found small gigs, such as, helping my friend with her awesome all girls surf camp (ages 3-12). We taught them not only how to surf, but water safety, building strong relationships and having fun with crafts. Out of college I've still was drawn to the love of working with children so I've picked up nannying jobs for a couple hours here and there. I've also worked at an after school program for an elementary school. Through all my experience, I've learned a lot of useful tips on understanding the way children think and being able to navigate each unique child's needs. I enjoy being a safe space for them and watching them grow.
