About Marissa

Hi! I'm a passionate tutor with a strong academic background and lots of experience working with kids of all ages. I have a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (May 2026) and a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice and Psychology. I also scored a 30 on my ACT. I've tutored subjects like physics, and I really enjoy helping students break down challenging material in a way that actually makes sense to them. Every child learns differently, and I always try to meet them where they're at so they can feel confident! Outside of tutoring, I work as a counselor intern, and I've also been an ABA therapist and cheerleading coach. I have a lot of experience supporting children on the autism spectrum and those with other learning or developmental challenges. I'm very comfortable adapting my approach to fit each child's needs. My goal is to create a positive, supportive environment where kids feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and even enjoying the learning process!
