About Marshall

Hi families! My name is Emily and I am an English Language Teacher and former First Grade Teacher. I have a degree in Elementary Education and Spanish and a masters in Teaching English Learners. I recently completed a course on the Science of Reading which highlights best practices to get your child to become a fluent reader. My school uses the UFLI phonics curriculum, MyView reading curriculum, and BRIDGES math curriculum. I would love nothing more than to tutor your child either as a way to support their learning or enhance their learning this summer! I'd describe my personality as energetic, compassionate and disciplined. In my spare time, I like to read, try different coffee shops and travel to new places! One thing you should know about me is I like to highlight different learning styles and try to incorporate music, art, and movement in my teaching. I took piano lessons for 12 years and am passionate about including the arts in student learning!
