About Martina

Martina communicated Mom's needs to us immediately. What items would make Mom's days as comfortable as possible. She kept us up to date on Mom's day to day physical and emotional state. So we could monitor Mom's condition. And above all she was patient. In Mom's case, Parkinson's disease and dementia, this was top priority. Fortunately Mom still had enough of her mind left to befriend and trust Martina. This was extremely helpful towards the end when fear could override logic. Over all, Martina was always professional, courteous, patient, and caring. She always went out of her way and made the extra effort...decorating Mom's room for Valentine's Day. Handing out small gifts to keep Mom included in a life outside her room. This includes getting Mom dressed and cleaned up every morning. Mom really appreciated this because it kept her feeling like she was part of the community. She could have visitors and feel comfortable. Martina treated Mom with respect and never fell into the trap of treating Mom as a child or inferior because she was sick. Martina never talked down. Always gave and expected 100%. This earned trust and respect from Mom. Martina helped Mom keep her dignity. This is priceless.
