About Mary

I have 3 years of experience as a volunteer elementary level reading tutor for the Oregon public school system and 2 years of experience with public high school students for MMSD. I have been working for Best Brains, an afterschool enrichment center here in Madison, for over a year. I also have experience as a private ESL, ELA, and math tutor for elementary and middle school students both in person and online. I graduated from the University of Oregon's Comparative Literature (English) and Japanese Literature programs at the top of my class, then obtained my Master's degree from UW Madison in Japanese Literature. My passion is studying and teaching English and Literature and I hope to find some bright, young folks to share that with, building an enthusiasm for reading, writing, and learning together. I am happy to work with any students online, or in person if travel is reasonable.
