About Mary

I taught elementary school, grades k-3 , for 35 years. For the past 2 years after retirement, I have been tutoring homeschooled students in grade k and 1. With a masters degree in reading and as a certified teacher, I believe every student has unique potential. I create engaging, supportive, and patient learning environments. I vary my teaching strategies, using visual aids, hands-on activities, discussions, and practice problems. I also celebrate small successes and provide consistent positive reinforcement. Open communication is essential. It builds trust and a collaborative environment. I enjoy seeing a student's confidence grow as they master new skills. I am comfortable tutoring at your home, my home, online, or another convenient location. I would love to help your child succeed in literacy and math.
