Working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in both a hospital and nursing home has given me valuable experience and a strong foundation for nursing. In the hospital, I cared for patients with acute conditions by assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, charting in the electronic record, and supporting procedures such as IV removal and wound care. The fast-paced environment taught me how to prioritize, adapt quickly, and manage multiple patients at once. In the nursing home, I provided long-term care while building meaningful relationships with residents. I assisted with mobility, hygiene, and feeding, while also recognizing subtle health changes and supporting rehabilitation efforts. I gained experience in end-of-life care, offering comfort and dignity to residents and families. These settings have shaped my skills, balancing technical ability with empathy, patience, and adaptability--qualities that will guide me in my nursing career.
