About Maureen

I believe in fostering and encouraging the innate curiosity in children as opposed to structured curriculum. Children(and adults!) learn best through play. I enjoy curating a safe, fun space to inspire critical thinking, free thinking, assisting in discovery, and the expression of creativity, instead of just making kids memorize and regurgitate "facts". I have many years of experience working with children, from infants to teenagers. I also have many years experience working with special needs children and young adults in a variety of homes and settings as well. I wrote and implemented Science lesson plans for 4th graders for inner city schools. I worked at Cornerstone daycare center, the Missouri school for the Blind, and many Nanny and babysitting jobs since I was 13. Being the oldest of 5, in my own family, I learned childcare from a very early age.
