About Maureen

I'd describe my personality as empathetic, curious, and imaginative. I try to focus on every child's strengths because I believe there is a Life Long Learner in us all, it's just a matter of honing that wonder and applying it! Through play, daily routines, homework, and even chores, we can find something to learn, a question to ask, or an adventure to begin! I like tutoring because it gives me a chance to work individually with students and understand where they are having trouble. The moment that a student gets that "Ah-ha!" Look in their eye, I know I've done my job. One thing you should know about me is that I graduated with great distinction from William Paterson University of New Jersey, double majoring in Communication Studies and Elementary Education. My three semesters of student teaching through my University exposed me to children of all ages and ability levels, and my technical training exposed me to a plethora of teaching theories and techniques.
