About Maya

Hi there! My name is Maya and I would love to support your child's learning journey. Let's chat! I am a patient and dedicated tutor with several years of experience helping students with homework, spelling, comprehension, and building confidence in their academics. As a Theatre Performance major in college, I bring creativity and strong communication skills to ensure an engaging and effective environment for my students. My experience as a camp counselor and a private tutor (ages 7-10) has taught me how to adapt to different children's learning styles and keep them motivated in the face of challenges. I am happy to provide parents with daily reports on lesson plans and areas of focus for the day/week. While I tutor in a variety of subjects, I especially enjoy helping students with math. I know math can feel intimidating so I like to break concepts down step by step through lots of practice to instill confidence and discipline. I would love the opportunity to help your child grow!
