Hi, I'm McKenzie! I am currently working as an SSN para at a middle school. I work with children of varying abilities in grades 6, 7, and 8. I absolutely LOVE my job! I love being able to work with the kids one on one and to see all of their progress! I feel like I make great connections with each of them. Before I started this job, I was teaching Grade 5 abroad in Cambodia at an orphanage. That experience is truly an unforgettable one, I learned so much from the children. As a teacher I created lesson plans and instructed them to the class for Math, English, and Social Studies. These children were not native English speakers, so we worked through language barriers. I miss my class dearly, and plan to go back to volunteer and see how they are doing in Grade 6. Along with those experiences, I have over 9 years of experience with children ages 5-14 as well as a Bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies.
