I worked in a nursing home as a CNA (accreditation now expired) for 5 years during university/grad school. More recently, I cared for my mother for many years as her dementia advanced, at first half the week in her home and during her final two years 24/7 in ours. My family provided a welcoming and serene environment for her. I took care of all her needs: showering, dressing, meal preparation, bathroom, shopping, doctor visits, daily walks... I also sought to provide the things which delighted her (for example, reading books to her, playing beautiful music, and filling the feeder outside the window so she could watch the birds while she ate). She was surrounded by love to the moment of her very peaceful passing. I can provide attentive care for your loved one in Chantilly Monday-Friday 8 AM-2:30 PM, except on Wednesday when I am available until 1:30.
