My recommendation for anyone needing elder assistance (or childcare or pet care) with ADLs, post surgical care, light housekeeping and companionship is Melanie K. l had a total knee replacement done on Wednesday, 8/28/2024. I hired Melanie through Care.com to assist me in several areas. I required transportation to my surgery. For this, she arrived at my home on time, at the time I requested. She remained reliable, then picked me up at discharge, stayed with me at home well into the evening, helping provide the necessities needed for my care. Melanie was very patient and conscientious regarding the specific requests I explained. She has been a terrific caregiver! She asked very appropriate questions to ensure her familiarity with my needs. She listened impeccably and sought clarification if needed. Melanie was very interested in the complexities of my health. She confirmed or corrected that my review of the follow-up administering of meds agreed with the prescribed timeline for the next dose. Melanie is compassionate and was willing to assist wherever possible. She assisted with meals, was willing to cook, visit and she remained flexible to fully lend a hand. My appreciation extended to how kind Melanie was to my dogs and cat, in addition to myself. I was further compelled to look into Melanie’s skills as a caretaker after reading that she is a U.S. Army Veteran! Her commitment to quality care is no-doubt influenced by her service to our country. Melanie exemplifies the objectives of Care.com where quality of assistance, kindness and service to others is concerned.
