About Melena

Hello! I'm a part-time high school math teacher with over a decade of experience with Pre-Algebra through Calculus! I also have experience with GED and SAT prep. I'm looking to work with anyone who may not have found success in the traditional classroom. I'm available most mornings, so this may be a good fit for homeschoolers, college students, or anyone with unusual schedules. I like tutoring because I get to know students on an individual level to learn how their interests intersect with math. It helps me fill in gaps in knowledge, if there are any! I think every student can find success in math! One thing you should know about me is I am a visual learner myself, and I try to make connections between math concepts and their visual representations or real-world applications. In my free time, I love spending time with my two toddlers! I also like finding new crafts to learn about like painting, sculpting, woodworking, and digital art.
