About Melissa

Hi! I'm Melissa, a trauma-informed educator and MSW student at Smith College. I bring 15+ years of experience supporting kiddos in schools, therapeutic programs, and private childcare, including nannying for a family that grew from 2 to 4 kids. I've led group therapy for "at-risk" youth, supported children with autism and diverse learning needs, and this fall I'll begin part-time clinical work for school. I believe in gentle, non-punitive, exploratory caregiving. I love helping children feel proud of their authentic selves, discover creativity and movement through play, and feel safe, supported, and celebrated. I'm a Registered Yoga Teacher and Mental Health First Aid certified, and also CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certified (renewed 2024). I'm dependable, adaptable, and attentive to each child's needs. My child-friendly dog Monty can join us if your family is open to it. I'm available evenings and weekends and would love to help your child grow, explore, and feel fully supported.
