About Melissa

Hi! I'm a certified special education teacher currently teaching English, developmental reading, social skills, and study skills. I also have experience in English and history classrooms and truly love helping students build confidence, independence, and a love of learning in a supportive environment. Before teaching full-time, I worked in a daycare as both a classroom teacher and lifeguard, where I also provided private swim lessons. I'm CPR and First Aid certified with up-to-date clearances and always prioritize safety while keeping things fun and engaging. I was honored as a 2019 Citadel Heart of Learning recipient. I love spending time with my family and friends-especially being an aunt! I'm an avid Philly sports fan, enjoy traveling (13 countries so far), trips to the beach and my mountain house, and curling up with a good book. I'm responsible, caring, and truly love helping kids learn and grow.
