Hi! My name is Melissa. I'm 29 and living in Reno, NV while completing nursing prerequisites. I started nannying infants professionally at 19 and worked full-time for 5 years before getting my EMT certification. I have been missing the job a lot, so I'm excited to get back to caring for babies. I prefer working with one child at a time, under 12 months old, so I can stay focused on building a strong connection with them and their family (arguably the best part of the job). I'm an EMT with 5 years of experience, including 911 ambulance response and pediatric emergency care in the ED. I'm very well-versed in current methods for sleep training and feeding methods, and strive to make sure things are done the way you want them to be. Outside of work, my fiancé is a firefighter, we love Tahoe outdoor recreation, and have a dog named Piper. I value routines, developmental play, and clear communication. Melissa was our son's full time nanny and did an incredible job over the last several months. She was honest, punctual, and responsible. My wife and I were uneasy at first with the idea of having a nanny but Melissa delivered, and our son made a loving and trusting connection with her - as did we. We are transitioning our son into a Montessori program and that is the sole reason we will unfortunately no longer have Melissa full time. We consider her part of our family and we have no reservations about providing her both a high recommendation as well as a reference!
