About Melody

Melody was a nanny with our family for 3 years, from October 2010 through to September 2013. In that time Melody provided the highest level of care for our children since they were both newborns. They say it takes a village to raise children, and it would be fair to say that Melody was our village. Melody provided a nurturing and happy environment; she is both utterly reliable and flexible to the needs of our family; and able to walk that fine line between being part of our inner circle while giving the professional care needed for our children. Due to work we relocated to Los Angeles; however we know that Melody will always be a part of our family. We simply cannot recommend Melody highly enough. The following qualities are why we highly respect and value Melody: - Our children are happy - arguably the most important factor for us. Both our children are very happy. They would always look forward to seeing Melody. Often we'd hear how much our eldest loves Melody and that Melody is her best friend. And our youngest would smile and wave his arms in excitement when he sees Melody. - Education to our children - Our daughter loves to read, draw, sing, solve puzzles, dance, cook, speak Spanish and can even write her name; all of which Melody has helped nurture through a rich curriculum. - Getting out and about - come rain or shine Melody will go for a walk to feed the ducks, take bikes out for a ride, have a playdate at the park, or enjoy a sunny day at a wading pool. - A true Seattleite - Melody knows all the fun places to go. Not to mention we often tap her for the latest restaurants in town for a date night. - Melody has instilled great values in our children whether it's learning to share, play nicely or say please and thank you. - We know we can depend on Melody - there have been days when we weren't able to make it to our work due to snow, and yet Melody would make it to our house; even if it meant her walking when no buses or cars were able to drive! - Flexibility - we both have demanding jobs that can have us traveling out of the country for extended periods or in an operating room at the crack of dawn, yet with reasonable notice Melody is flexible in her schedule. - Communication - Melody has been great at keeping a detailed written log when the children have been very young and then as they've gotten older a simpler written log, with daily updates via email with photos and videos. - Experience - children don't come with an instruction manual, so we've often turned to Melody for counsel on matters both trivial and serious. - Trust - on occasion we've spent a night away and not for one second did we ever have a concern that our children were in utterly safe hands with Melody. And when accidents happen, Melody has responded with an immediacy and professionalism that has given us great reassurance. - Support with house maintenance - first and foremost Melody has been our nanny and focused 100% on our children. That said Melody has always been a great support and with the increased demands of a second child she has helped with child related chores. - A pleasure to have in our house - a very endearing quality to Melody is her positive, warm and happy disposition. Our family has been enriched by having Melody in our lives.
