About Mikayla

Hi everyone!! My name is Mikayla and I am 22 years old and have a passion for working with kids. I currently am a senior at Aurora University and am studying special education. I have been working with kids since I was 14. Growing up I took care of my nieces and nephew often. Once I turned 16 I started working at the YMCA as a summer camp counselor and a before and after school caretaker in a program called SAFE. The ages that I worked with varied from Kindergarten to 7th grade. I worked at the YMCA for about 3 years and loved every moment of it! I currently am working at a daycare in the infant room with ages 6 weeks-15 months and have been there for 2 years. However, I often help out in the toddler rooms up to 2 1/2 years old. I am comfortable with all ages of children and will strive to make sure your child feels comfortable and safe in my care. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends! Some activities I enjoy are working out and trying new coffee shops!
