I am a 70-year-old retired RN with 15 years of experience teaching elementary students and 22 years of patient care in a hospital, long term care facility, clinic, and correctional facility setting. I have a lot of experience with dementia patients and have worked as a companion / nurse for two females and one male hospice patient since retirement. I can drive my client to appts, run errands, cook meals, do light housekeeping, assist with medications, and help with activities of daily living. I am a "talker" and keep my clients engaged in conversations and oriented to date, time, and current events. I grew up on a farm in NC and enjoy "swapping"stories and life experiences. I am a sports fan (GO PACK!) and watch them routinely. I enjoy crafts, knitting, crocheting, reading, and watching TV. I believe laughter is one of the best treatments to ensure a good quality of life. I am an animal lover and own 2 dogs.
