Good morning. My mother left this world as she held my hand while home in 2017. Mommy had been diagnosed with vascular dementia and severe spinal stenosis. She was bedridden and required 24 hr. care from me. I bathed mommy in bed, fed her, and provided meds through her feeding tube. I changed mommy's diapers along with emptying her urostomy bag. There was a brief time when mommy's appetite returned and I prepared her meals and sweet treats daily. When mommy felt strong enough, I utilized the manual hoyer lift to place her into the wheelchair. Caring for mommy was difficult due to the dementia, but also rewarding because I could do for HER what she'd done for me as a child. I miss her terribly! It would be wonderful if I could be paid in cash. I'm trying to supplement my income because social security just isn't enough. The salary is also negotiable as times are difficult for many families nowadays.
