About Nicki

I would be delighted to be the tutor for your family! I am 41 years old and live in Lincoln Park. I have a Masters Degree from DePaul University in Elementary Education from DePaul and an Illinois Initial Elementary Certificate Type 03: K-9. I am CPR certified and have eight years of experience working with children ranging from infant to school-aged. Currently, I am a part time nanny for a 6-month-old baby girl and I work M, T, W from 7-4. This past school year, I was a tutor for a 3rd grader in Math and Reading on M and W afternoons from 3-4:30 and T and TH afternoons, I tutored for a 4th grader in all subjects from 2:30-5. I am attentive, patient, nurturing and safety conscious. I actively engage children in play-based learning activities and sensory play, that promotes them to succeed in developmental milestones, all while having A LOT of fun!!!! I truly LOVE my job and I respect each child and family and their individual needs.

Nicki has been incredible tutoring our 3rd grade son in math and reading. He’s excited when she comes and she makes him want to learn. Nicki is patient and takes time to work through homework or other activities that support what he’s working on learning. She’s always on time and dependable as well. We’ve loved working with Nicki!
