I've tutored ELEM and high school students to assist on IEP goals and objectives. I have been a teacher of special needs students for 21 years. I work with hands on activities as well as reading skills to keep the students engaged. I would make play dough with the students then make letters and spell out words. The children enjoy making play dough and then the learning begins. I do art projects to culminate a lesson. I would have the students make dioramas after we learned about sea creatures. Then they would research 3-4 animals and attach their research to their project.
