Hi there! My name is Nico and I would love to help make your life easier. Growing up I was very close with my paternal grandmother and have always gravitated towards generations above me. My professional life includes being a chef both in restaurants and catering so I love to cook, and also as an audio storyteller with a focus on recording, sharing, and archiving oral histories, especially with elders. I have 10+ years of experience caring for land and animals, and am excited to expand my skills and offer care to the elders in my community, as well as children and pets. I am highly skilled at creating inventive meals for all diet types. I am an excellent driver and love helping folks do their tasks whether it be organizing, cooking, errands, or doctor's appointments. I am often the friend called on to help with these things. I pride myself on meeting folks where they are at and establishing trustful working relationships where all parties feel comfortable expressing their needs.

To whoever this may be helpful when choosing a caretaker, do yourself a favor and hire Nico. While originally our relationship started through an oral history project that we were both involved in, Nico would offer now and then to help me with some tasks around the house when he saw that I was struggling. He would come and help me do some tasks that are harder for me with my age while also recording my life story. Talk about helpful. Over shared meals and many hours of conversation, Nico was extremely helpful to me. He is a fantastic cook and even better company. He is very good at making you feel comfortable and helped me with things that I didn’t realize I wasn’t helping myself with such as re-organizing my Tupperware so that it was easier for me to reach and use. I moved in with family and while I don’t require Nico’s help around my apartment as I once did, we do keep in touch regularly. I recommend him without reservation.
