About Noralyn

Having taught Grammar, Writing, and Literature courses to prospective teachers for 30 years, I know the ins and outs of how to reach students in these subject areas. I teach grammar in the context of writing and/or reading while integrating instruction of usage and punctuation rules and I know how to simplify instruction. I received my B. A. in English from Calvin College and my Ph. D. from University of Illinois and then taught English Education courses (K-12) for 30 years. I've also taught in 7th-12th grade classroom and have offered SAT test prep courses. I am now retired after 30 years of classroom teaching, but remain passionate about learning in general and students in particular. Since I also work part-time as a pharmacy technician, I have passed all criminal background checks required by the state of Michigan.
