About Patrick

I'd describe my personality as levelheaded, thoughtful, and lighthearted. I like tutoring because I enjoy unlocking student learning when a typical classroom setting hasn't provided that joy to them. I'm looking for a job that provides me with intellectual challenge and an opportunity to have a positive impact in furthering someone's academic and professional potential. I started tutoring when I was in college, after my professors invited me to work as a peer learning group leader for freshmen. In my spare time, I like to cook new recipes (thank you, meal kit subscriptions), read up on advances in science and policy, and connect with my community as a relative newcomer to DC. My skills include flexible & adaptive instruction, active listening, and patient empathy in understanding student challenges. Happy to discuss how I can help!
