I have 4 years experience of in my home care of my Father in law, who had Dementia. We started out with a simple memory loss, He ended up passing away in our home 4 years after diagnosis. I understand all the stages one with Dementia goes through and how to go along with what they believe to be so. Unless, it becomes violent thoughts. When that happened with my father in law, we took him to his physician. He was given medication and the thoughts he was having dissipated. My mother was with us for 1 year. She was in her home and had a stroke. It paralyzed her right side completely . I understand the needs of a stroke victim. Sadly, she passed away August 1 of this year. I can read, play board games, just sit and have conversation. I know how to change a diaper, if needed. I can shave ones face, clip and care for toe nails. I found these things sometimes wasn't seen after by bathers that would come to care for my father in law and mom.
