About Patty

For eight years, I taught English as a foreign language in China, working with students aged 3 to 17. My approach was tailored to each developmental stage: play-based immersion and phonics for young learners, interactive storytelling and vocabulary-building for middle grades, and structured grammar, conversation practice, and critical thinking for teens preparing for exams or global opportunities. I emphasized active engagement, cultural context, and confidence-building--helping students not only master a new language but also develop communication skills that empower them in school, career, and life. Teaching offered me a front-row seat to transformation. Watching students grow from shy beginners into expressive, capable communicators was deeply rewarding. It wasn't just about language--it was about watching young people discover their voice, expand their worldview, and step into their potential with pride.
