About Rachel

Rachel is a friendly and patient educator who loves helping young learners build strong reading, writing, and mathematical skills with confidence. She holds dual certification in Childhood Education and Special Education Grades 1-6 and has been teaching for 18 years primarily in grades 1-3. Rachel is Orton-Gillingham trained through the Institute for Multisensory Education, which allows her to support students with structured, multisensory literacy instruction. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in English and History from the University of Connecticut, a Master of Arts in Childhood Education and Special Education from New York University, and a Master of Education in Leadership for Educational Change from Bankstreet College of Education. With extensive experience working with elementary students, Rachel creates fun, engaging lessons tailored to each child's learning style and needs.
