About Rachel
Experience: 10 yrs
A certified and experienced k-12 music teacher, I babysat from age 12, and was a part time nanny from age 16 on and off over the years. I sub since 2012 and have worked both as a Teaching Asst. And Sub TA for a 3 Montessori schools here in town. In Middle School I babysat for a family with five children, 4 in diapers! I was a part time nanny/ babysitter 8 years for a boy from infancy- elementary school. Children learn through interactive play. I babysit without electronics (unless you specify a particular reason for them such as Audible- (Winnie the Pooh!) I use outdoor play, puppets, reading, Music, Drama, Arts and Crafts. I have a son of my own, who is now 15. Ideal hours would be 20-24 hours weekly maybe three shifts of 9-3 or 8-4 with some longer days. (I teach violin after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.)

We met Rachel on the walking path last fall. We stopped to chat and she mentioned that she was looking for a short-term nanny job--serendipitously, it was the same day that we had lost our previous nanny. So, Rachel was our perfect solution! She was a big help in the few weeks it took for us to secure another long-term care-giver for our one-year old, S. S had a great time with Rachel and another family will be lucky to have her!
