Hi families, I'm Rachel :) For the last 13 years, I have worked in a bunch of different capacities--as a daycare teacher, camp counselor, Little Gym instructor, and most often as a nanny. For a period of time, I worked simultaneously as a licensed mental health counselor so I am familiar with the developmental lens of early childhood, theories of attachment, and social-emotional learning. I absolutely love working with kids (especially babies and toddlers) and would describe myself as empathetic, friendly, creative, and hardworking. My current families are transitioning their kids into preschool beginning Sept 2022 so I am looking for a new position to start around then. I'd love to stay local with a Roslindale or Jamaica Plain family but would travel for the right fit. I look forward to meeting you and learning more about your family!

Rachel is an incredible nanny. She completely saved us during Covid, first watching our then 2 year old, then later with our infant.

Rachel came to us during a chaotic time-caring for our infant (the youngest of our three kids) in the midst of the COVID-19 lock down-and she was amazing. Caring, supportive, energetic, reliable, non-judgmental, punctual, communicative, and so much more. It's easy to see how much she loves children and seeing the world through their eyes. She went from doting on the baby (singing to him, finding his favorite baby games, taking him on walks) to watching the older two and keeping them engaged with fun pretend play and arts activities. A favorite project was making superhero capes that they still wear constantly ;) Safety was even more critical to us during this crazy time, and I never doubted her willingness or ability to protect herself and my kids. The house was always clean, the baby was happy, and we were thrilled! Rachel truly went above and beyond every day.

Rachel has been working with us since our daughter was 8 months old until present (2+ years). We cannot say enough great things about her. An absolute delight to work with, she is professional, dependable, trustworthy and an excellent communicator. She cares for our child better than we ever could have imagined and our daughter loves her as family. They sing together and go out daily to either attend music classes, community activities, play groups, visit animals at the shelter and more. Rachel's engagement and genuine interest in our daughter's development is one of the key reasons our daughter is so verbal and beyond where she should be with language and social skills. Since our daughter was a baby, Rachel has always elicited our preferences and insights for feedings/schedules/naps to ensure we were apart of the plan though she didn't need to with her years of experience! She has become like family to us and we would be continuing on with her if we were not moving out of the city!

I cannot possibly say enough good things about Rachel. She was the most loving and thoughtful nanny we ever had and we consider her still to this day a member of the family. It is rare to find someone that really truly loves childcare and that is Rachel. She connects with children in the most meaningful and loving way. She is present and always puts the kids first. As a parent, Rachel was a treasure, she gave thorough updates, she was kind and patience, she was punctual and incredibly dependable. I highly recommended Rachel! 

I can't recommend Rachel highly enough! She cared for our daughter three days a week from ages 6 months to 18 months (as part of a nanny share with another child a couple months younger). In addition to being an incredibly dependable and punctual person and caregiver, she also has a way with kids that is truly special. She is great at creating fun and stimulating activities for the kids and keeping them engaged with songs and dancing, fun outdoor activities, and other creative projects.   

Rachel was our nanny for over a year and we absolutely loved her. She was thoughtful, conscientious, punctual and all-around fantastic. She looked after two girls starting when they were 6 months old until they were about 21 months. She really bonded with the girls and they absolutely adore her. She took them outside, read books, sang songs, colored, played with water (outside!) -- it was great! She was great at keeping them occupied with fun activities. She was also terrific at giving me updates while I was at work. It was such a joy to receive a picture or a note about what they were up to! She also was really good at letting me know if something happened (a head bump or a fall) or asking questions about how I would like to handle something.

I felt so good knowing that Rachel was taking care of my daughter. I would enthusiastically recommend her.

Rachel has taken care of our three year old daughter several days a month since she was 7 months old, and continues to do so. Her commitment is clearly evident in her thoughtful interactions and in the way she plans our daughter's day.  Rachel's graduate degree in mental health counseling and expressive therapy gives her a perspective unique even among the best caregivers. When our daughter was going through a rough time, Rachel taught us how to talk about tough topics openly and simply in toddler terms. These tools are invaluable for everyday obstacles, as well as more challenging times.  Rachel maintains order while keeping it fun. Our home is neater than when she arrived, and my daughter is in a terrific mood - with improved manners! Rachel's attention to safety and her judgement are impeccable. Rachel is extraordinary: the rare soul who combines wisdom, practicality, creativity, and fun even in ordinary moments. 

Rachel is phenomenal with babies and toddlers.  She took care of our daughter for three days a week from 4 months to 18 months, along with another baby in our home.  Rachel is kind, caring, and extremely dependable.  She took the utmost care to learn and follow the routine we had for our daughter.  She took meticulous notes about her day and always gave us a complete summary at pick up.  She came up with so many imaginative and fun ways to engage her. We feel lucky that she was our daughter's nanny!

Rachel is very present with kids, and wonderfully creative. She is playful and artistic, but also good at chilling and chatting at a kid's age level. She guides behavior and sets boundaries gently and respectfully while fully honoring our wishes about certain things we might be working on developmentally or philosophically with our child. These days when she and my 5-year-old kid spend time together, they build fairy houses, make beads out of clay and turn them into jewelry, pretend all manner of things, go to playgrounds or museums, play games, run around - lots of child-led, play-based learning. She has a great natural curiosity and openness that I think kids really respond to. Rachel has cared for my child at my home, at her home, at museums, and on other types of outings, and she's equally capable in all settings. She is prompt and communicative and has always been very responsible when caring for our child over the past five years. Highly recommended.

Rachel was the first sitter I interviewed to care for my infant son. As a brand new parent I was concerned that I would make the wrong choice, I can whole heartedly say I made the best choice hiring Rachel! She is not only wonderful with my son she is prompt and professional. She has helped me out in countless situations and I will be forever grateful to her for helping me balance work and motherhood. She gives great updates throughout the day and I feel confident that my son is being well taken care of. We are moving or we would keep Rachel on as a nanny for many more years. You will be lucky to have her in your child's life. 

Rachel is an intelligent, highly creative, extremely organized, energetic, and curious individual of solid character. She has demonstrated the stamina and flexibility of style to stay calm and on task while creatively engaging with children in an often intense and demanding work environment. I met Rachel when she was the assistant teacher for a cute "mommy and me" class I took with my 1-year-old daughter. Rachel was so engaging with children and sweet. She started helping me in the afternoons and evenings, as I was recovering from a very serious illness. She was FANTASTIC! Rachel is so creative and I could completely relax when I know Rachel was in charge. My child loved her! She gets to kids like no other person! Unfortunately, we moved to a western suburb and travel is too hard for her to come to us. Otherwise she would be here daily!
