About Rachel

With seven years of teaching experience, I am a certified teacher dedicated to helping elementary students excel in math, reading, phonics, and writing. I hold a college degree in Elementary Education with a Special Education certification as well. I believe every student has unique potential and can achieve their goals with personalized support. I vary my teaching strategies with visual aids, hands-on activities, discussions, and practice problems. I celebrate small successes and provide consistent positive reinforcement. Communication is essential for understanding student needs, progress, and setting clear expectations. Seeing a student's confidence grow as they master new skills is the most rewarding aspect of being a tutor. I have a car, am comfortable with pets, and can tutor at your home or the library.
