Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my profile! I tutor using hands on approaches and cater to multiple types of learners. I have been a private tutor for years in K-12 and college level mathematics, Spanish, and science mainly. I have also lead college laboratory classes, supplemental instruction courses, and tutored groups of elementary school children in multiple subjects. I am willing to work with your student to determine rather they are a hands on, visual, or audible learner. With this information I am armed with numerous techniques of teaching catered towards your child specifically. If the student does not understand something, I feel it is my job to explain it DIFFERENTLY using hands on tools, relatable examples and more. I believe in making school fun, interactive, holistic, and understandable to each individual student. I run online sessions as well via online.

Raphaela was only able to work with my 9th grade son 3 times before Coronavirus hit and her college campus closed, forcing her to move out of town. After we talked on the phone before she had to move, I cried! She had really made a connection with my son, and she went beyond merely helping him with his homework. She was teaching him organizational strategies and working with him on the basic concepts that he had not grasped at school. I feel absolutely positive that if things had gone as planned, he would have made a complete turnaround in Algebra. He looked forward to the sessions and both respected and liked Raphaela. It's obvious from first meeting her that she is a brilliant person, dedicated, and very caring and personable. If she ever wants to try using Zoom or some other online tool to continue tutoring, I would sign on in a heartbeat! She's wonderful.
