My caregiving journey for the elderly started back in October of 2023 doing private house care. I also worked alongside a group home working with patients who had Dementia and Alzheimer's. It was one of the most self fulfilling jobs; I can say that as I gave 110% every encounter, as I don't believe in anyone doing this job any other way. Although I was only working for these patients for all of 5 months with no prior experience, I can say that unless you knew I was new to the job, you wouldn't have guessed it. I am, and have always been, confident in my ability to execute any job given to me, while still taking into account the training I was given and using common sense; essentially caring for others as I'd want to be cared for.
