Hello, my name is Ruth , I am a very responsible person and dedicated to my work. In the last 10 years, I have worked as a caregiver, CNA and hospice care. I have experience working with people with Alzheimer's, wheelchair bound, Terminal cancer etc... also help with their ADL activities. help clients with doctors appointments , meal prep, general house work and companionship etc ... I love my job especially when it's about helping others. I like to treat my clients with respect and dignity. I'm also bilingual English and Spanish.
Ruth is an excellent caregiver and more! She has given me dedicated and very helpful care as I have recovered from a fractured hip at my home in Berkeley since November 2024. Initially she worked for me seven days a week. She has worked fewer days and hours per week as I recovered and became more independent. She has been exceptional … she has cooked me wonderful meals, and my kitchen and bathroom have never been cleaner! The meals she prepared are healthy, tasty and beautiful also. She makes beautiful omelettes, sautéed vegetables with chicken sausage, green salads, tacos, fresh squeezed orange juice with breakfast, and more. I asked her to make latkes (potato pancakes) and she followed a recipe I gave her, and they were delicious. She took initiative to clean areas of my house that needed it, such as the kitchen cupboards, without my asking. I’m impressed with her ability to do home repairs and organizing. She expertly gave me showers, clipped my toenails, did lots of laundry, and did my grocery and other shopping. She has always gotten exactly what I asked for at the store and carefully followed my detailed requests. She carefully drove me to medical appointments in her vehicle and helped me with assembling and using a walker, assembling a wheelchair, and obtaining a cane. I’m picky about recycling and composting everything that can possibly be disposed of in these ways, and she has carefully followed my directions about this. She quickly learned where everything is stored in my house and has been very helpful in keeping things straightened up. She helped me go through clothes and decide what to keep, what to donate, and what to repair. She even did some clean up of my back yard, and transplanted some succulents and my philodendron plant. She did some handy person work for me, including removing some metal window blinds. She helps me with my physical therapy and balance exercises and has given me plenty of useful health information. She has responded to all my requests speedily and has communicated very well, in English. She has done all this with a smile and a great attitude and has always been warm and very caring. I’ve greatly enjoyed her company and our conversations. My experience with Ruth (also known as Veronica) is that she is a very honest, caring, hard working and competent person who does a great job.
