About Samantha

I am an education professional, college instructor, and PhD student with over 8 years of direct teaching and tutoring experience. I am seeking clients in English, executive functioning skills, college application materials, ACT/SAT prep, and other subjects. As a tutor, my approach: -Develops individual plans for student success -Fosters student independence through development of executive functioning, organizational, and problem solving skills -Creates affirming, positive learning spaces -Maintains an open line of communication on student progress, setbacks, and need I have worked with students with varying support needs including students with 504 plans and IEPs. In my personal time, I love to explore the city, hike, and read. I have personal experience in overcoming educational setbacks; as such, providing opportunities for children to do the same is very important to me.
