About Samiya

To tell you a bit about myself, I have been in the education field for the last 10 years. I started my career as a classroom teacher for Houston ISD. I did that for about 7 years. I have also been tutoring private clients like yourself for the past 6 years. Last three years, I have been an instructional coach for the school district. I am responsible for coaching and training teachers within the district and for creating curriculum that high school teachers can use. I have been lucky that I had the pleasure of working with students of various backgrounds and special abilities. I have experience in teaching students who has limited English proficiency, ADHD/ADD, learning disabilities and gifted abilities. I strongly believe that every student has unique strengths and abilities. My job as a teacher is to identify and nourish these strengths. I want to show my students how their strengths can help them become successful and reach their goals. I look forward to working with you.
