About Sarah

For almost 20 years, I have served as an educator with experience teaching in 4 different states. I firmly believe that true learning does not come from a textbook and that students need to be engaged with the content. I focus on building confidence and fostering a love for learning, not just memorization. I empower students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. I actively listen and observe to adapt my teaching methods, using visual aids, hands-on activities, and discussions. I connect challenging topics to real-world examples and break down complex problems into manageable steps. Communication is essential, and I value building trust with students and parents. Witnessing a student's "aha!" moment is the most rewarding part of being a tutor. I am comfortable tutoring at your home, a center, library, community center, or coffee shop. I can help with science and study skills at all levels, from elementary to adult. I also hold current CPR and First Aid certifications.
