About Shalaya

Hi! I'm Shalaya - a warm, dependable caregiver with experience supporting children from 6 months to 18 years old in homes, camps, and school settings. I've worked as a nanny, an overnight camp counselor, and a youth leadership/activism program leader, so I know how to keep kids safe, engaged, and encouraged. I also spent nearly two years in Boston Public Schools working 1:1 with students who have developmental, learning, and physical disabilities-supporting communication devices, behavior plans, personal care, and classroom participation. That taught me patience, flexibility, and how to adapt care to each child's needs. I hold a B. S. in Psychology and an M. S. in Criminology & Criminal Justice, which gives me a deeper understanding of child development, behavior, and social-emotional support.
