I have been working in senior home care for over 15 years and really enjoy working with the elderly. I am honest, kind and dependable. I believe in reciprocity and I will treat your loved one as I would treat my own. I have been a caregiver to a wide variety of individuals. I have a lot of experience working with dementia patients. I have a real soft spot for them because I had a mother and grandmother with Alzheimer's and I saw first hand what that disease can take from a person. I have also cared for individuals recovering from hip and knee surgeries. I took care of a lady who was a fall risk and I am proud to say she never fell once on my watch. I take my responsibilities seriously. My last job was taking care of a gentleman who was bedridden. I can do whatever needs to be done, except lifting. I am pretty flexible. Past duties included personal care and hygiene, giving medications, cooking meals, light housekeeping and running errands. My preference is full-time overnight.

When I visited my Mom in Florida for a week in January, I met Shannon for the first time. My sister hired her. Shannon who "lived-in" with my 95 year old Mom, was very attentive and nice to her. She anticipated my Mom's needs and engaged her in conversation and activity. Shannon would explain things to my Mom if she became confused or did not understand what the daily schedule may call for, like nurse visits, doctor's appointments, meal time, shower time, etc. Shannon was good at understanding the frustrations and trials of a 90+ year old person with mobility issues.
