I'd describe my personality as friendly, caring and have a good sense of humor. I like caring for seniors because I find them interesting and enjoy their company. I'm looking for a job that allows me to provide companionship, medication management, driving to appointments, meal preparation and personal care. I started caring for seniors seven years ago. In my spare time, I like to walk, read and swim. One thing you should know about me is that I will provide excellent care of your senior. I'm very experienced caring for dementia clients, and can help with activities to keep them active mentally and physically. I frequently take clients to lunch, classes and bingo at local senior centers. My skills include companionship, medication management and meal preparation.
We were incredibly lucky to find Sharon, who cared for my mom from September 2020 through March 2025. What began as a very part-time role quickly grew into longer schedules, and by December 2021, when my mom was diagnosed with Late Onset Dementia at age 93, Sharon became her full-time caregiver. Sharon was more than just a caregiver—she truly became (and still is) part of our family. She provided the most compassionate, attentive care and always went above and beyond. Whether it was coming in early, staying late, or rearranging her schedule, Sharon was flexible and reliable, which was such a gift since I work full-time. She didn’t just care for my mom at home—she also took her to doctor’s appointments, grocery and pharmacy trips, haircuts, nail appointments, and even outings to the Shoreline and Edmonds senior centers for lunch, fitness classes, bingo, and other activities., and more. Sharon’s care brought my mom joy, stimulation, and dignity throughout the progression of her illness. Sharon was also wonderful with our dogs—she helped with all three during her time with us (though two have since passed). My remaining dog, Ollie, adores her. In fact, we often joke that Ollie is her “emotional support dog.” :) The only reason our daily care arrangement ended was because my mom needed to transition to an adult family home in April 2025 due to the progression of her dementia. Even now, Sharon continues to visit my 96-year-old mom at her new residence and joins us for family events. Sharon is kind, dependable, and extraordinarily caring. Anyone would be fortunate to have her looking after their loved one—we certainly feel blessed that she was part of our journey.
